Martin is a sweet and spirited billy goat who was abandoned at a foreclosed property in 2019. Rescued and given a second chance at life, Martin has since been castrated and now lives happily as a gentle companion to our does.

Full of personality and charm, Martin loves exploring the sanctuary, socializing with his friends, and reminding us that even animals with a troubled past can find peace, friendship, and a forever home.

Meet Jade and Rocket – Our Sanctuary-Born Kids

Jade and Rocket are a lively duo who were born right here at the sanctuary after their mama was rescued while pregnant and in poor health, full of worms and in need of care. Thanks to the love and attention of our staff, both kids grew up healthy, playful, and full of personality.

Curious, adventurous, and always up to some mischief, Jade and Rocket love exploring the pastures, playing together, and interacting with visitors. Their story is a testament to the sanctuary’s mission: giving animals—and even newborns—a safe start in life and a chance to flourish.

In 2020, we welcomed a small flock of geese after their owners lost their barn to a fire. These sociable birds have quickly made themselves at home and are especially fond of hanging out with the horses. Handsome is the charming and friendly goat who has earned the title of sanctuary “mascot.” He came to us as part of a large multi-animal rescue and quickly settled into life at Hope and Healing Animal Sanctuary.

Loved by staff, volunteers, visitors, and even our daycare kids, Handsome is full of personality, always ready to greet friends and bring joy wherever he goes. His playful spirit and gentle nature make him a true favorite among everyone at the sanctuary.

Brownie is a clever little rabbit who appeared at the sanctuary years ago, likely abandoned or dropped off. For a time, she made her home alongside our chickens, blending right in with the flock!

Eventually, we were able to safely catch her and provide a proper home where she could thrive. Now, Brownie enjoys a quiet, safe space, plenty of care, and the companionship of her sanctuary friends.

Black Jack is a gentle and affectionate male rabbit who joined the sanctuary when his owners reached out for help. He quickly adapted to his new safe and loving environment and has become a cherished member of our small animal family.
